 Death is the final destination of life. It is the indispensable truth of life. Nobody can avoid it. It depends upon the mental strength of an individual to keep on living their life peacefully despite knowing the fact that it will all come to a halt one day. Any death brings tremendous grief to the deceased's family. Words are just poor comforters and nobody can measure their sorrow. After a death in the family, the family members lose control of their minds. They don't know how to react to any situation. Despite this mental condition, one task remains undone. The task of bidding a proper goodbye to their closed ones. It depends upon the affection of the people towards the deceased how they take care of this ceremony. The death ceremony embarks the journey of a person from this world to the other world. One must make sure that this ceremony is carried out peacefully without any hurdles. This is because it is the last time when the deceased person becomes a part of any ceremony.


We come across many people who share our happiness and achievements. However, we have very few people who share our grief and sorrow. There can be no bigger grief than losing someone we loved. Nothing tangible or intangible can substitute the presence of a person. At the time of death of a person, it is very important to have somebody from our side who is ready to handle all responsibilities related to the last rites. The family is shattered because of the death so they are not capable of making arrangements for any ceremony. At this crucial juncture, somebody must rise to the occasion and do the needful. Making proper arrangements for the ceremony can be very hectic. The arrangements of death ceremony comprise many things. They range from the arrangement of a priest to the selection of flowers. The arrangements also include the hiring of a carrier van and the selection of the venue where the ceremony is to be carried out. This article discusses the various types of funerals.


Different types of funerals:


  • The ritual of immediate cremation: This is the most common type of funeral in Hindu tradition and is known to all. In this ritual, the dead body is cremated the very next day and the normal rituals are performed at the place of cremation


  • The ritual of planned cremation: In this type of cremation, the body is not cremated with immediate effect. The process is given a short amount of time. This time depends upon the arrangements of proper vehicles, freezer boxes, and other stuff. A proper Hindu priest is searched for who chants the mantras for the salvation of the deceased person.


  • The ritual of disposition: In this type of funeral the body is not cremated immediately.  The funeral is planned properly for one week and then a proper site is arranged where the last homage is paid to the body with respect.


Deah of a closed one has a deep impact on the minds of the family members. However, they must fulfill the last wishes of their beloved ones and pray for their salvation. This article talks about the different types of funerals.
